WHO: All unit top leaders must be trained by the end of 2011. http://www.seattlebsa.org/Orca-District/Training/ Top leaders are Cubmasters, Scoutmasters, Varsity Coaches**, Venturing Crew Advisors** and Skippers**. Crews with Outdoor Programs only. All top leaders are required to complete position-specific training in order for their units to re-charter during 2011 for the 2012 program year. All unit direct-contact leaders must be trained by the end of 2012. Direct-contact leaders include top leaders and all assistant leaders and den leaders. http://www.seattlebsa.org/images/stories/CSCTrainingChart2011-06-20.pdf WHAT: This ”hands on” training is a Wood Badge prerequisite. The instruction will help you learn how to set up camp, cook, work with woods tools and about ropes, first aid, planning campfire programs, map reading and compass skills, hiking and backpacking techniques, nature identification, and Leave No Trace. This outdoor session will bring to life the pages of the Boy Scout Handbook to help you deliver the promise of Scouting to yourself and the youth you serve. It will increase your comfort level and give you confidence as a trained, skilled leader. The program will also give you the opportunity to work with other Scout Leaders from your area, meet new friends, and reinforce skill techniques with fellow unit leaders. COST and Contact information: $10 (Friday Breakfast and Lunch). Payments will be accepted on-site only. PRE- REGISTRATION is required to allow for advance purchase of groceries and to insure a large enough camping site. Special dietary needs must also be known in advance. A Boy Scout Handbook, Field Book and program appropriate Leader’s Handbook, note taking materials, Tent, Personal Camping Equipment (see below), and wear your uniform. We will be camping outside. Some of the classes will be held inside. Please bring a favorite skit &/or song to share @ Campfire Thursday night. Veteran's Day Assembly

We will be serving as greeters, opening doors, and other cheerful service as required for the annual Veterans Day Celebration. This is a great opportunity to earn valuable service hours towards rank advancement. A free lunch will be provided by Crazy Eric's. Please arrive in full uniform and sash at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds Pavillion between 8:00 and 8:15 AM. Everything will be finished by 1:00 PM.
OA Fall Rally

This will be the first year that the Lodge will be holding a "Chapter Olympics" which promises to be a fun time for all. The food will be plentiful and fantastic as always. There will be enhanced training on Unit Elections and the OA Troop and Team Rep. program. The Lodge is requiring Unit Elections training for all Arrowmen who will be members of chapter election teams. If you are available this weekend, please plan on attending this event. You won't regret it. The event costs $20 and runs from Friday, November 11 at 5:00 PM to Sunday, November 13 at 12:00 PM. Please remember to bring a copy of your annual BSA medical form.
