The Tieton River will keep you cool in the heat of Yakima's Indian summer. Fueled by water released from Rimrock Dam, the Tieton's steep gradient produces 14 miles of narrow and swift Class III+ whitewater leading to the Naches River. Eastern Washington is a dry place by the end of the summer and farmers use the water released for irrigation.
